What is Aluminum Plate?

Aluminium Plate is highly resistant to corrosion, very ductile and has a reflective finish. It is roughly 1/3 the weight of mild steel, so that it is ideal for general sheet metal work where moderate strength is required but weight is an issue. Features of different series Aluminum Plate

1 series is formed by adding a small amount of copper to pure aluminum, which has excellent forming properties, high corrosion resistance, good weldability and electrical conductivity. 1XXX series aluminum alloys are widely used in products that do not require high strength, such as chemical instruments, thin plate processing parts, deep drawing or spinning concave vessels, welding parts, heat exchangers, clock surfaces and disks, nameplates, kitchen utensils, decorations , reflectors, etc.

2 series: 2XXX series is a typical hard aluminum alloy in the aluminum-copper-magnesium system, its composition is relatively reasonable, and its comprehensive performance is good. This alloy is produced in many countries and is the largest amount of duralumin. The alloy is characterized by high strength and certain heat resistance, and can be used as working parts below 150°C. Above 125°C, the 2XXX series alloys are stronger than 7075 alloys. The formability is better in the hot state, annealed and new quenched state, and the strengthening effect of heat treatment is remarkable, but the heat treatment process is strict. The corrosion resistance is poor, but it can be effectively protected by covering it with pure aluminum; it is easy to produce cracks during welding, but it can be welded or riveted by using a special process. Widely used in aircraft structures, rivets, truck hubs, propeller components and various other structural parts.

3 series: 3XXX series are AL-Mn series alloys, which are the most widely used anti-rust aluminum. The strength of this alloy is not high (slightly higher than industrial pure aluminum), and it cannot be strengthened by heat treatment, so cold working method is used to improve it. Mechanical properties: high plasticity in the annealed state, good plasticity in semi-cold work hardening, low plasticity in cold work hardening, good corrosion resistance, good weldability, and poor machinability. It is mainly used for low-load parts that require high plasticity and good weldability, working in liquid or gaseous media, such as mailboxes, gasoline or lubricating oil conduits, various liquid containers and other small-load parts made by deep drawing: The wire rod is used to make rivets. 3XXX series aluminum plates have good formability, weldability and corrosion resistance. Used for processing parts that require good formability, high corrosion resistance and good weldability, or require both these properties and higher strength than 1XXX series alloys, such as kitchen utensils, food and chemical product processing and Storage devices, tanks and tanks for transporting liquid products, various pressure vessels and pipes processed with thin plates, general utensils, heat sinks, cosmetic panels, photocopier rollers, and ship materials.

4 series: 4xxx series aluminum rods represent 4A01 4000 series aluminum plates, which belong to the series with higher silicon content. Usually the silicon content is between 4.5-6.0%.
